Chef Yohs started it’s humbling beginnings during the covid-19 pandemic, when restaurants were shutting down and businesses we’re closing. Coming out of culinary school with a background in high end, fine dining cuisine and lack of full time work was difficult. I moved out of my apartment in downtown Toronto and moved back home with my family.

Quarantine as we all know has a different effect on us all. I was eager to create something, and with all this extra energy and time I had on my hands I decided I was going to make an opportunity for myself. With the knowledge and skills I had acquired over the years through my culinary journey. I realized my community and surrounding communities needed fresh, affordable and tasty options. Ones that were not already available in the market.

Purpose and intention are two very powerful things. It was clear to me I would bring people together through food. This was how the idea of Chef Yoh’s prepared meals was born.

My training and knowledge through school, and work experience in some of Toronto’s highly awarded and acclaimed restaurants has allowed me to provide the highest of food quality, authenticity and a standard I devote myself to maintaining when creating and producing dishes for Chef Yoh’s. Working with only the freshest in season product, analyzing and getting a clear understanding of the type of food that’s missing from the surrounding market has been a success factor. With my family background and coming from a home of foodies, where food has been such a comfort and trigger for many great memories has continued to keep me inspired as a chef and what I believe will keep Chef Yoh’s growing as a business. The customer base is supportive and undeniably loyal. I hope to continue with this growth and energy moving forward. My main goal is to create a positive impact, and provide a product that I believe will broaden peoples understanding of food, and give them an opportunity to try something new. Creating lasting memories that leave a great taste.
